Theatre Award Festival
Manama - BNA

As part of the preparations for the third edition of Khalid bin Hamad Youth Theatre Award Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centres and People with Disabilities, the fourth introductory workshop for the festival was held at the venue of the festival, Muharraq Model Youth Centre, on Thursday.
Successfully organised for the third consecutive year under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation and within the initiatives of His Highness, the festival will be held on October 5-21.
The organising committee had announced earlier that this year's edition will be held under the slogan #Let's_Plant_A_Smile and will introduce several workshops and additional activities with the aim of spreading happiness, culture and knowledge.
Titled "Makeup Art", the workshop focused on the importance of utilising makeup to support theatre actors while performing their roles. It presented and supervised by Makeup Artist Siddiqa Al-Ansari.
Al-Ansari discussed with the participants the importance of the art of makeup in adding reality to the characters and creating them. She also spoke on the different styles of makeup used on theatres, which include makeup used for age reduction or vice versa, in addition to wounds makeup.
The workshop came within a series of workshops and seminars that are held as part of the organising committee's efforts to provide the necessary support to the participants in the festival by introducing them to different types of arts and means to overcome any obstacles that may face them in their careers.
The organising committee announced that the workshops are open for all culture and arts enthusiasts to participate in, highlighting that the workshops are organised early to benefit the participants in the festival and allow them sufficient time to prepare for it.
