Minister of Antiquities Khaled Anani along with the Iraqi and Chinese ambassadors to Egypt and president of Helwan University Maged Negm took part in the inauguration of Pharaonic faces exhibition on Sunday.
Showcasing 44 paintings made by students of Helwan University’s Faculty of Art Education, the exhibition is planned to last to September 10, at the Egyptian Museum located in Cairo downtown.
The exhibition was organized on the sidelines of handing over dozens of artifacts to the Iraqi and Chinese embassies, seized before being smuggled abroad.
Anani stressed his ministry's keenness on closely binding the artists with the museums and archaeological places as part of its profound belief of the role of arts in boosting the cultural identity.
