President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has inaugurated Wednesday the 17th edition of the International Book Fair of Algiers at the Exhibition Centre in Pins Maritimes, Algiers. The Head of State, accompanied by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and many members of the Government, visited different stands of the cultural event. The 17th edition, which coincides this year with the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of Algeria independence, will be held under the slogan "My book, my liberty." It will be marked by the participation of 630 publishing houses from 41 countries. The 2011 edition recorded 1.2 million visitors.
