The Cultural Office of H.H. Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced its open call for entries for the ‘Young Artist Award’, an annual creative and visual arts competition which supports and recognises talented and aspiring young artists, ensuring the continued growth of a thriving art community in the UAE that coincides with the vision of the UAE leadership.
Open to all UAE residents, young artists and students between the ages of 18-30 years old are invited to submit their creative entries. The competition is divided into four main categories: Fine Art, Photography, Multimedia and Design and this year group submissions will be allowed to enter the competition, with artworks created and design by two to four artists.
For the first time, an exhibition of 100 shortlisted artworks will take place in December, from which the winners will be selected by a distinguished judging panel comprising prominent figures from organisations and institutions within the UAE who play a critical role in the encouragement and promotion of art.
All entries must be submitted online at the 'youngartistaward' website no later than 31st October 2016. Submissions can be made from this coming Tuesday.
