Melkus reveal RS2000 black edition New York - Arabstoday Limited to just five units, the special edition Melkus RS2000 Black Edition with a self-supporting aluminum monocoque chassis features a special piano black lacquer paintjob, black interior trim and a smattering of technical upgrades.The exceptionally brilliant finish of the exterior that has a real depth of color and a very smooth surface was achieved by applying six coats, with each layer individually sanded. Completing the unique exterior of the fiberglass body is a carbon-fiber sports body kit.This is made up of a front flap, rear wing, diffuser, side scoops, and side skirts. A Melkus stainless-steel rear silencer has also been fitted.Inside, the cabin benefits from a black leather interior, Alcantara roof lining, a number of carbon-fiber and lacquer elements, and an infotainment system with satnav.Power comes from a direct injection 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission that's good for 325hp and 317lb-ft of torque. 0-62mph is managed in just 4.5 seconds and the sports car boasts a top speed of 168mph.The base price for the Melkus RS 2000 Black Edition, which has literally just rolled out of the factory, is 149,900 Euros, and is expected to sell out almost instantly.
