The Arab Film Festival (ALFILM)'s 5th edition, scheduled to take place from 19 to 26 March 2014, has announced the call for entries with a deadline for submissions set on 30 November 2013. Film entries must be produced or co-produced by an Arab country, directed by an Arab filmmaker, or handle issues related to the Arab world. They cannot be older than three years. The main programme will be screening a plethora of contemporary Arab film productions, ranging from feature films to short films to documentaries, as well as experimental films and video art. It is worth mentioning that a number of festivals for Arab cinema have come to be held in Europe, the oldest of which is The Netherlands' Arab Film Festival Rotterdam. Source: Ahram Online
