More than 150 tattoo artists from over 25 countries have gathered in Nepal for the 5th International Nepal Tattoo Convention.
The convention, that started here Friday, is the biggest tattoo festival in South Asia. It is also one of the best tattoo conventions in Asia.
World renowned tattoo artists from Britain, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, and India, among others, have participated in the convention.
The three-day event is being organized annually with an aim to gather tattoo lovers and enthusiasts and share the passion of body art and friendship.
"We have been organizing this event since last 5 years to bring together the artists and art enthusiasts from across the world. It has also been a platform to promote the rich Nepalese art and culture through tattoos ", Mohan Gurung, a Nepalese tattoo artist and an organizer of the event told Xinhua.
There are more than 100 tattoo booths in the convention displaying from traditional to latest and tribal to creative designs.
Tattoo culture is being a lucrative business in Nepal at the recent times with establishment of dozens of tattoo studios.
"Local tattoo artists are quite popular among the foreigners because of their designs related to Nepalese culture and religious images", Gurung added.
