One of the world's leading trade fairs for industrial technology, the Hanover Fair, opened its gates to visitors on Monday.

This year's fair will feature more than 100 applications of Industry 4.0 technology including smart robots and production machines, according to a press release by the fair's organizer.

More than 5,200 exhibitors from over 70 countries attended the fair. China is second only to the host country in terms of the number of exhibitors.

The slogan of the Hanover Fair in 2016 is "Integrated Industry -- Discover Solutions" and the United States is the partner country this year.
