The first national festival of school song kicked off Sunday evening, in the Ali Maachi Cultural Centre of Tiaret (340-km East of Algiers), in the presence of local authorities.

The festival’s opening ceremony, organized as part of the 60th anniversary of the triggering of the National Liberal War, was marked by a parade of the participating provinces’ delegations and the performance of Ali Maachi’s famous song “Angham Al Djazair” by a choir of the Tiaret education directorate.
The programme of this festival, hosted by the Ibn Rochd Teacher Training Institute includes competitions, music by students of participating provinces, artistic evenings and poetry readings.
