Janadriyah - Arabstoday

Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah toured the ministry’s pavilion at the Janadriyah festival on Friday. Highly impressed by the elaborate arrangements made at the pavilion, the minister praised the organizers and asked them to always uphold the ministry’s slogan of “Patient First.” Speaking to reporters during the visit, Al-Rabeeah said the ministry uses the festival as an opportunity to acquaint the citizens with some of its awareness programs as well as its health care services.  “MoH’s participation in the National Heritage and Cultural Festival would have a positive impact on its services being rendered to the public. The ministry is keen to extend the best possible preventive and curative programs,” the minister said adding that MoH’s pavilion would be developed further in the coming years, keeping pace with the breathtaking developments taking place in the field. Al-Rabeeah also visited the children’s theater, and the pavilion of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC). He was enchanted at the exhibits showcased by young men and women trainees at the pavilion. The minister commended them for organizing the pavilion in the best manner. The pavilion of King Abdul Aziz Public Library is a major attraction in the festival. The pavilion features old pictures and maps showing the evolution of Saudi Arabia since its unification by King Abdul Aziz. The visitors have a closer look at the models of cultural projects being implemented by the library such as King Abdullah translation prize, Saudi Arabia’s encyclopedia, unified Arab index, mobile libraries and the like. The pavilion also displays the latest books, scientific studies and reference models and electronic services. There is a special corner for children where they have an opportunity to draw cartoons as well as color pictures. The library is also organizing a workshop on topics such as childhood, basic things to know about children, how to interact with them and the role of family in developing reading habit among children. The photographic gallery at the pavilion of Al-Qassim region in the festival grounds draws huge number of visitors. The visitors are enthralled at the rare pictures of spectacular desert scenery and trips of picnickers to vast desert terrain in the region. The display of rare designs of silver ornaments decorated with precious stones by Khuloud Abdul Majeed at Madinah Region’s women’s pavilion is attracting large number of visitors. She used her expertise in making numerous designs of silver ornaments using diamond, emerald and other precious stones. Khuloud, who has a five-year successful track record of designing these ornaments, said that her father helped her to collect precious stones from Egypt, Sri Lanka and China. “A large number of visitors from within the Kingdom and abroad are eager to know more about my designs. There is a tremendous response to buy these designs as they see them cheap and can be used instead of gold in the wake of soaring prices of the yellow metal,” she said.
