Kuwaiti writer Lateefa Buti has been awarded the Shaikh Zayed Book Award for "Children's Literature" for her book "Bila Qubba'a" (Hatless).
Buti's book has an imaginative and inspiring story line, adopting higher values of mutual coexistence and acceptance of differences, with both other humans and the surrounding natural setting, in a way that unleashes children's thought process and stimulate their creativity, according to UAE News Agency.
The award's eleventh edition (2016 - 2017) covered Literature, Contribution to the Development of Nations, Children's Literature, Translation, Literary and Art Criticism, Arabic Culture in Other Languages, and Publishing and Technology, WAM reported.
