Joe Gallagher is always eager to get a new client, and this one is a surprise. One of the owners of an import/export company has hired Gallagher to find Leonard Cole, his missing partner, who disappeared after becoming involved with some stolen computer processing chips, notes this new novel. A police sting left Cole with some of the chips, but those involved with the original theft want those chips back and will stop at nothing to get them.
Gallagher, who thinks he’s taken on an easy missing persons job, soon learns that he’s mistaken. The three-dimensional computer processing chips would enhance a country’s ability to create missile guidance systems and nuclear weapons, so they are worth millions to the right buyer. Two thugs involved with the original theft follow Gallagher as he attempts to track down Cole, hoping to get lucky, but they are sadly mistaken. “The Pawn’s Run” features intrigue, double-crosses, violence and people on the wrong side of the law. Will Gallagher be able to close his case or will Cole and his colleagues find they are the ultimate pawns in a race for the chips?
