The Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) has been making its presence felt at the 19th edition of the Casablanca International Book Fair, which is taking place from 29 March to 6 April 2013, in the Kingdom of Morocco. SIBF is being represented by Zaher El Sousi, Sales Executive - Arabia at SIBF.The SIBF Stand has witnessed an impressive response from a wide selection of intellectuals, readers and publishers, as well as interested individuals from all over the world and from the Maghreb region in particular. The 10-day book event brings together more than 700 publishers from about 44 countries from across the world.Speaking on this occasion, Salim Omar Salim, Head of Sales '&' Marketing at SIBF, said "The region is witnessing a rich cultural season with numerous book fairs being held across the world, and the Sharjah International Book Fair has always been keen to be present effectively at these events. SIBF's role in supporting culture in the region has been widely hailed, and we took the opportunity to conduct a series of meetings with a number of official bodies, academic institutions, and publishers to discuss possible avenues for future cooperation as well as our readiness to provide every possible form of support in order to allow them to participate in SIBF's upcoming editions, and we look forward to fruitful outcomes." Meanwhile, the SIBF recently concluded its participation in the 20th edition of the Sfax Children's Book Fair in Tunisia where its stand received a great attention and was widely welcomed by its visitors, most notably Al Habib Al Ouni, Tunisian Minister of Culture, who conveyed greetings from Tunisia to H. H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The Tunisian minister expressed his delight at SIBF's participation and stressed the need and the importance of SIBF's continuous participation in the Tunis International Book Fair.The Sharjah International book Fair is always keen on the exchange of cultures and experience among various exhibitions, as well as to familiarise the audience with the various publications released by the Department of Culture and Information, Kalimat Publishing House, and the Supreme Council for Children and Girls.The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority also participated in the children's book event under the umbrella of SIBF, in order to present the public with a thorough background on the Emirate of Sharjah.A total of 70, Publishers also participated in the book fair which featured about 100 events and activities dedicated to child
