Ibrahim Hamid describes his time as a Palestinian in an Israeli jail and solitary confinement in his book 'Open isolation outside time' A commander of Hamas' militant arm, Qassam Military Brigades, Ibrahim Hamid, recounts his time in solitary confinement in an Israeli prison in his book Ata’zeeb wal Azl (Torture and Isolation). His lawyer quotes Hamid saying that the book not only narrates his personal experience in solitude confinement, but that the book is an accurate documentation of Israeli practices inside the prisons; from torture to isolation. The Palestinian pointed to the reality of Palestinian saying “He lives in an endless isolation, outside of time, where he takes advantage of any opportunity to break these repressive constraints.” Hamid was arrested in 2006 in a special operation in Ramallah and put into the solitary confinement from then until just last week. Israel accuses Hamid of leading many Qassam Brigade attacks, which killed one Israeli soldier and injured dozens. From/ahramonline
