The St Petersburg company of choreographer Boris Eifman plays four London shows. Eifman's thing is lavishly presented, angsty modern melodrama, generally taking a Russian literary classic as its starting point. Some find him a shallow show-off, others love the dazzle and drama, which will be on display here in versions of 'Anna Karenina' (Tue-Wed) and 'Onegin' (Fri-Sat). Both are stories that have been translated into ballet in the past and Eifman's versions are mostly simplified to torrid love triangles (with occasional added electric guitar).
