A show of traditional and contemporary dance, bringing together Algeria, Morocco and Spain, was presented Wednesday in Algiers at Moufdi Zakaria Palace of Culture at the opening of the International Dance Day, marking the rapprochement between peoples through body language. Five dances combining traditional and modern choreography marked the programme of this first evening, highlighting the diversity of the Mediterranean cultural heritage. "Arabesques" association and the National Ballet performed three dances representing three regions from Algeria namely Tlemcen, Algiers and Kabyle, shedding light on their rituals and customs. All dance companies have convergent objectives, namely the prosperity of choreographic art, promotion of intangible heritage and the creation of bridges for exchange between peoples.
