bills were put on the agenda of the Parliament’s 2014 autumn session during the joint meeting of the bureaus of the two chambers chaired Tuesday at the headquarters of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) by Speaker Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa.
The meeting was devoted to the Parliament’s 2014 agenda in accordance with Article 16 of the Organic Law N° 99-02 defining the organization and functioning of the Lower House as well as the relations between the two chambers of the Parliament and the government, the Lower House said in a communiqué.
The meeting took place in the presence of Khalil Mahi, minister of Relations with the Parliament as representative of the government.
During the meeting, the representative of the government presented the 2014 autumn session’s agenda, which is made up of 17 bills, including four that have already been tabled at the Lower House’s bureau, added the communiqué.
They include the bill amending and complementing the law n° 05-06 of 23 August 2005 relating to the fight against smuggling, the bill relating to social security, bill n° 98-06 of 27 June 1998 defining the general rules of civil aviation and the bill relating to activities and the book market.
The representative of the government noted the possibility to "add other bills that are currently being examined at some ministerial departments.”
