The Aden Free Zone Authority (AFZ) and Dar Al-Yemen Co. Ltd signed on Thursday an agreement to set up a cement factory at a total cost estimated at $ 32 million.
The agreement signed by Chairman of AFZA Dr. Abdul Galil al-Shaiby and the company's chairman Mohammed al-Mansib stipulated providing a suitable land for the construction of a cement plant on an area of 60,000 square meters.
According to the agreement, the project would provide more than 250 job opportunities directly and over 100 jobs when starting the project, which is expected to be accomplished over a period of time ranging from 8 to 11 months.
Dr. al-Shaiby said that AFZ is working hard to attract domestic and foreign capital to establish economic projects in the area, pointing out that 10 investment projects agreements were signed during the current month of Ramadan.
