Training and rehabilitation of specialists to apply the quality and excellence techniques at ministries as well as the public and private sectors has been urged by the Six Sigma Forum which concluded in Bahrain today.
The two-day event, which was organised by Bahrain Quality Society (BQS) under the aegis of State Minister for Defence Affairs and BQS honorary President, Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, recommended holding a series of specialised workshops in Six Sigma accredited by international parties to obtain the Green Belt and the Black Belt.
The forum called for enhancing the role of quality applications to boost the institutions' competitive performance in terms of creativity, education, transparency, achieving sustainable development and enhancing competitiveness of the national economy as a whole.
The forum also urged increasing awareness of decision makers in Bahrain of the need to optimise services in the public and private sectors and supporting companies in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
BQS Board Chairman Dr. Khalid Jassim Bumtaie underscored the importance of the recommendations in transferring and nationalising experiences and the quality field and helping Bahrain its pioneering regional status in this respect. he said in a statement at the conclusion of the forum that BQS has already embarked on preparations for the third edition of Six Sigma which is expected to attract more companies, ministries and institutions to showcase their practical experiences in quality applications.
