The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) and Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology signed on Monday a cooperation protocol in the research and drainage treatment domains.
The protocol aims at rehabilitating young cadres, sponsoring talented people and making the best use of Egyptian scientific qualifications to push forward the technological development cycle in Egypt.
As per the protocol, the AOI will manufacture and sponsor some industrial innovations that are conducted by the Egypt-Japan university.
The university will retain intellectual property rights of all innovations that are manufactured by the AOI. The university will also receive some of their profits.
The AOI will also continue some of the researches that were conducted by the university and proven effectiveness as regards the organization's activities.
The signing ceremony was attended by head of the AOI Abdel Aziz Sief el Din, Japanese Ambassador in Cairo Takehiro Kagawa and president of the university Ahmed el Gohari.
Members of the AOI and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) were also present at the ceremony.
