The Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission and the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on enhancing joint cultural and awareness-raising cooperation ahead of the parliamentary and municipal elections.
President of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission and Director-General of the Preparatory Committee for the Parliamentary and Municipal Elections 2014 Abdulla bin Hassan Al-Buainain and BIPD Executive Director Dr. Yasser bin Ismail Al-Alawi signed the agreement, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
Under the MoU, the two sides will develop the citizens’ political awareness according to the provisions of the Constitution and the principles of the National Action Charter during all phases of the electoral process in order to promote the democratic culture and principles.
