The Agriculture and Marine Resources Directorate at the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry that applications for participation in the third edition of the Farmers' Market will be accepted electronically or directly from September 21 to October 22, in line with the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, and in accordance with the goals of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development.
The Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry's Agriculture and Marine Resources Undersecretary Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al Khalifa called on all Bahraini farmers to take part in the third edition of the market, due to kick-start on November 22, 2014, at the Budaiya Garden, which will be open for visitors every Saturday.
He said that holding the market for the third year in a row was in line with the directives of HRH Princess Sabeeka to support Bahraini farmers and products in order to achieve self-sufficiency in vegetables, fruits and agricultural products.
He stressed that the main goals of the market was to meet the aspirations of the Bahraini farmers and promote their products nation-wide.
He said that participants should be holders of a valid Agriculture License and sell locally-grown products only.
