Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Abdulla Fakhro received here today the Head of the Investment & Technology Promotion Office at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) Dr. Hisham Hussein.
Dr. Hisham Hussain updated the Minister on the on-going preparations to hold the International Entrepreneurs Investment Forum, due to be hosted by the kingdom in the last quarter of this year.
The Minister praised the efforts exerted by the UNIDO Office in Bahrain in supporting small and emerging industries, affirming the key role played by UNIDO in preparing scores of entrepreneurs and developing small and medium-sized industries, using the Bahraini Model.
Dr. Hisham Hussein appreciated the efforts being exerted by the Government of Bahrain to support the national economy and focus on programmes and functions that can upgrade the level of services provided for the business sector, especially the small and medium-sized enterprises, whose contributions to the local GDP, he said, have increased.
