The Embassy of Bahrain has today held a seminar entitled “Tourism: New Business Opportunities in Bahrain”.
The symposium, coordinated with the Arab-French Chamber of Commerce, was attended by a number of stakeholders in the tourism sector in addition to the heads of companies and economists and Arab and foreign diplomats.
The President of the Arab-French Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Vincent Reina, welcomed the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Paris, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar, and the attendees, affirming the importance of organizing events that promote the Kingdom’s capabilities and characteristics, especially through the “Economic Vision 2030”, which was launched in 2008, and the need to continue cooperation and consolidate the old relations between the Arab-French Chamber of Commerce and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Ambassador highlighted the cultural, civilizational and tourisim advantages of the Kingdom of Bahrain, referring to the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which has been developing since its inception in 2000, at all political, economic and social levels.
Dr. Abdul Ghaffar highlighted the role of women who have had the right to vote and stand for election, affirming their role in achieving economic growth.
The Ambassador affirmed the need to promote culture, openness and tolerance, all of which have been known to the Kingdom of Bahrain throughout its history, by being a model of coexistence between different sectors.
Dr. Abdul Ghaffar referred to the importance of Bahrain’s economic diversification, emphasizing the advantage of Bahrain’s geostrategic location as a gateway for investors and companies to reach the Gulf markets.
The Ambassador said that the Bahraini government gives great importance to the tourism sector, affirming the satisfaction of tourists and expatriates with the hospitality they receive in the Kingdom, as indicated in the recent report of the “Quality of Life” 2017, which ranked Bahrain first.
Presentations were given by tourism and marketing specialist at Interface Tourisme, representative of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority in Paris, Clarice Lasemillante, and the Director of the Paris Bureau of Economic Development, Laurent Sansoucy, and the head of the Gulf Air office in France, FioanChan.
