Egypt's annual inflation rate rose to 31.7 percent in February in comparison with the corresponding period of 2016, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The monthly inflation rate also increased by 2.7 percent in February compared to January, the report said.
In the monthly bulletin out Thursday, CAPMAS said prices of food and beverages increased by 4.1 percent in February compared with January.
Prices of food and beverages upped by 41.7 percent on annual basis compared with February 2016.
Also, the price of meat and chicken prices increased by 5.5 percent in February in comparison with January, according to the bulletin.
Prices of meat and chicken upped by 34.6 percent on annual basis compared with February 2016.
