Riyadh - BNA

President of Customs Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the General Organisation of the King Fahad Causeway, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has attended the 2018 Future Investment Initiative (FII) as part of Bahrain’s delegation led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister.

FII is being held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the chairmanship of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Shaikh Ahmed highlighted the long history of partnership between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, spanning across all sectors, particularly in customs and logistics.

He spoke of the increasing role of the logistics sector in facilitating investment opportunities across the region, adding that Bahrain and Saudi Arabia continue to align priorities in this regard. HE went on to highlight the fact that the King Fahad Causeway has long provided vital connectivity between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and continues to be a core component of both nation’s logistics strategies.

He concluded by recognising the new King Hamad Causeway project as a significant milestone in advancing joint strategic projects to expand a vital and thriving sector.
