Planning Minister Hala el Saeed said on Monday Egypt's 2017/2018 sustainable development plan targets a 5 percent growth rate to increase to 6 percent by 2020.
Speaking with economic editors on the planning and administrative reform system in Egypt, the minister said the plan aims at increasing investments by 16% by the end of 2018 and to 17.2% by 2020.
The minister's speech was read out on her behalf by her adviser for administrative reform Khaled Zakaria.
The plan targets upping exports, now estimated at 20.5 billion dollars, to 22.5 billion dollars by the end the current fiscal year and to more than 30 billion by 2020, she added.
As for the unemployment rate, she said the plan seeks to decrease the rate, now put up at 12.2%, to 11.5% by the end of the current fiscal year and to 9.7% by 2020.
