Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has distributed more than 3,500 more aid parcels to Gazan families and children affected by the recent developments in Gaza Strip.
Emad Abu al-Laban, Director of ERC Office in Gaza, said the agency's fifth delegation to Gaza delivered 2000 food parcels to Palestinian charities to help displaced people taking shelter at schools run by United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and to families whose homes were destroyed or partially damaged by the assault on Gaza.
The ERC official added that the delegation directly gave out 1,500 aid parcels to needy families in a number of severely-damaged Palestinian towns.
Each aid parcel given out in ERC's latest relief effort contains food, baby milk formula, clothes, and hygiene kits.
The ERC's fifth delegation who had entered Gaza a few days ago also toured southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis in order to assess the humanitarian situation and the extent of the damage wreaked on houses in the recent painful developments.
As part of its intensive relief efforts for Gaza, ERC recently set up a field hospital in Rafah City to provide free treatment for tens of injured people every day.
Meanwhile, Ashraf al-Qidra, Spokesperson of the Palestinian Health Ministry, on Friday said the death toll in Gaza had hit 1,980 with at least 10,181 injured.
The death toll in Gaza is expected to continue to rise as dozens succumbed to wounds sustained during the offensive on the strip and more bodies were recovered from under the rubble of destroyed homes, al-Qidra added.
