Minister of Industry and Trade Tareq Qabil on Saturday inaugurated Egypt’s first factory of duplex paper in Sadat City, Monofiya governorate, at total investments of EGP 700 million.
The new factory is planned to export up to 20 percent of its output to foreign markets.
During a tour in the city, Kabil opened two production lines of scrubs and medical supplies at total investments of EGP 11 million.
Monofiya Governor Hisham Abdel Baset and Chairman of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) Ahmed Abdel Razeq accompanied Qabil during the tour.
They also inspected expansion works at carpet and glass factories in the city.
Qabil said the factories prove the ministry’s keenness on implementing industrial and foreign trade development strategy.
