Investment Minister Sahar Nasr and chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish visited a new port established by PSA Singapore.
A statement by the Investment Ministry said Nasr and Mamish, currently on a visit to Singapore, met with officials from PSA Singapore and discussed container movement in Egypt in the coming stage.
Wan Chee Foong, a regional director of PSA Singapore, said Egypt is a promising market with high consumption rates, believing this would help increase the flow of investments.
Nasr said she is looking forward to benefiting from Singapore's know-how in establishing and managing harbors.
Hopefully, Singaporean businessmen would contribute to projects along the Suez Canal Corridor, she said.
Nasr touched upon a new investment law that offers incentives to businessmen that Singaporeans might as well find beneficial.
The meeting also took up a mechanism to manage maritime platforms at the new East Port Said Port.
