Amman - Petra

A Jordanian economic delegation from the public and private sectors will visit Iraq later this month to discuss economic issues of concern to both Jordan and Iraq, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Hatem Halawani said.During a visit to three factories in Eastern Amman, the minister said that the government seeks to increase national exports to Iraq and remove obstacles in the way of such trade. The government, he added, made contacts with the Iraqi side and approved the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, noting that this would accelerate the opening of the Iraqi market for Jordanian exports.Halawani said that the government prepared the 2010-2014 industrial policy with an aim to enhance the competitiveness of Jordanian products.
