Deputy Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Anwar Al-Hasawi Thursday asserted that the society is constantly distributing relief aid to Palestinians in the beleaguered Gaza Strip, which has been suffering severely from shortage of medical equipments and food due to the three-week Israeli aggression on the strip.
In a press statement issued Thursday, Al-Hasawi said that the society, in cooperation with humanitarian organizations in the strip, managed to distribute the third batch of food and blankets in Rafah and Gaza.
Also some simple gifts have been distributed to children, who are being treated in hospitals in the strip on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, he added.
Al-Hasawi lauded the role of humanitarian organizations which cooperated with the KRCS to deliver all food, required medical equipments and energy to the needy people in the strip. He added that the support aims to tackle hiking humanitarian crisis in the strip due to the Israeli aggression, which destroyed completely homes, turning them into heaps of rubble and twisted metal.
The aggression also targeted schools and hospitals where thousands of Palestinian victims are treated, he asserted. A Kuwaiti plane of 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid will fly to Egypt after the vacation of the Eid to distribute such aid to Palestinians in the strip, in cooperation with authorities there, across Rafah crossing-border, Al-Hasawi added.
The society works according to international laws and regulations to deliver aid to Palestinians in Gaza in coopeartion with the Foreign Ministry, Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo and the KRCS, he pointed out.
Al-Hasawi added that the society vowed to support and ease sufferings of victims in Gaza, responding to the calls of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to provide humanitarians aid to them. The Israeli aggression killed at least 1,363 Palestinians and over 7,000 others injured, according to medical sources in the strip.
