The Ministry of Health (MoH) has reached an agreement with the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) over paying its backdated utilities bills, said a senior MEW official. [MoH] officials have been very cooperative on paying bills for all its facilities," said the MEW's Assistant Undersecretary for Consumer Affairs Jassem Al-Lengawi in a statement issued to the press on Thursday. Al-Lengawi explained that the agreement was part of a policy of cooperation between all state bodies to ensure prompt payment for all services rendered. Meanwhile, some residents of Yarmouk were hit by a two-hour power cut on Wednesday night after a secondary transformer in the area short circuited, plunging some homes into darkness. Technical staff were at the scene as quickly as possible to effect repairs.
