Minister of Local Development General Adel Labib has ordered all governors to intensify their field tours of microbus stops all across the country to check whether or not drivers are abiding by the set legal fare after the government increased subsidized fuel prices.
In statements on Monday, Labib also pressed the need for declaring the values of the fares in all stops to tighten control on the drivers' attempt to take advantage of the citizens after the fuel prices hikes.
He said the governorates will continue establishing foodstuff commodities exhibitions in coordination with the Supply Ministry and the private sector to sell commodities at affordable prices.
Labib also instructed governors and localities officials to make tours in various districts to get posted on complains of citizens and settle them at once.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab inspected on Sunday a microbus stop at Abdel Moneim Riad Square in central Cairo to make sure the drivers abide by the set legal fare after the Sunday fuel price hike.
