The Ministry of Labour published a guide on labour laws in the country in five different languages. The guide also includes information about the midday break rule, which was enforced on June 15 and ends on September 15. The Ministry aims to raise awareness on labour laws and procedures in the country for workers in various sectors in the UAE. The guide also stresses the importance of abiding by health and safety standards, and knowing the country's laws, which as a result would reflect positively on the workers' performance and create stability in the UAE job market. The guides have been published in Arabic, English, Urdu, Bengali and Indian. The guide also includes instructions on first aid and ways to deal with sun strokes. The Ministry has distributed the guides to Labour welfare teams across the country. The teams are responsible for distributing publications and receiving labour complaints and transferring them to the concerned or specialised authority. They also conduct field visits to labour residential areas to inform workers about the labour law and ministerial resolutions. From / Gulf news
