Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr and Head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Mohab Mamish opened on Friday the Egypt-Singapore business forum.
Singaporean Minister of state for Trade and Industry, Koh Poh Koon, Egypt's ambassador to Singapore Mohamed Abou el Kheir and representatives from 76 Singaporean companies attended the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the forum, Nasr lauded the Egyptian-Singaporean economic relations, expressing hope to further cooperation between the two countries.
She also pointed out that the 73 Singaporean companies operating in Egypt work mostly in the services sector, calling on other companies to invest in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, the new administrative capital and the new El Alamein city.
The new investment map will provide more than 600 investment opportunities across Egypt, Nasr asserted.
For his part, Mamish praised the cordial relations between the two countries, saying that Egypt seeks to boost cooperation with Singapore in the field of shipbuilding and draw on its expertise to upgrade ports in Suez.
Koh, for his part, called on companies to invest in Egypt, stating his government's keenness to cooperate with Egypt in the field of heavy industries.
