A humanitarian aid convoy was sent Thursday to several villages in the northern countryside of Idleb, coinciding with a visit of a delegation of representatives of a number of UN offices to the governor.
The delivery of the 22-truck convoy by the governorate of Idleb, in north Syria, came in the framework of the government’s relentless efforts to provide relief supplies to people affected by the ongoing terrorist war still raging in the country since 2011.
The aid, which included food and medical supplies and furnishings, targeted the villages of Atma, Sarmada and Qah along with the makeshift camps there where displaced families are staying.
Deputy Head of the Executive Office of Idleb Governorate Ali al-Jassem told SANA reporter that the delivery of the new aid convoy “shows the government’s keenness to secure the needs of people living in the rural areas and improve the conditions of the families staying at the camps.”
This convoy is the fifth to be sent to the countryside of Idleb in less than a month, said al-Jassem, adding that the delivery of the convoy was carried out in coordination with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and a civil association.
He stressed that other convoys will follow in the coming period, which are being run according to an planned work program, pointing out that relief work in the province focuses on delivering assistance to the countryside and all needy areas without exceptions.
