Qatar Friendship Fund (QFF) signed Friday in Tunis four newagreements. One of them was with Tunisian Ministry of Vocational Training andEmployment, while the others were with three Tunisian establishments. The agreements were signed by HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Tunisia Abdullah binNasser Al Humaidi, who is the chairman of Qatar Friendship Fund, and TunisianMinister of Employment and Vocational Training Hafedh Lamouri andrepresentatives of the three establishments.The agreements aimed to encourage youth to launch private projects, throughfunding mechanisms and mentoring and coaching.In a statement following the signing of these agreements, HE Al Humaidi expressedhope that these new partnerships will accelerate the achievements of QatarFriendship Fund and its partners for the good of the Tunisian youth.He added that the joining of new partners would have a positive impact on theTunisian youth, especially those in remote areas, pointing out that thesepartnerships reflect the extent of mutual trust between the Qatari and Tunisianpeoples.HE Al Humaidi also underscored the achievements made as a result of previouspartnership agreements signed between the QFF and a number of Tunisian partners,explaining that the partnership agreement which concluded with the Bank of SMEsresulted in launching up to 146 projects.The partnership agreement with Tunisia entrepreneurship network allowed the QFF to open 6 offices in six areas in the northern, central and southern Tunisia, and tosupport 80 projects which will provide 1031 new jobs by the end of this year, hesaid, adding that last September saw the launch of a new information andcommunication technology system at a cost of 28 million Tunisian dinars (US$18million).
