Upon directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, a shipment of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) was loaded at Ras Laffan port, as part of the assistance provided to the brotherly Egyptian people. LNG carrier, Al Mafyar, which belongs to the fleet of Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited (Nakilat), sailed from Ras Laffan port laden with an LNG shipment to the Arab Republic of Egypt after the completion of loading processes and departure procedures. An official Qatari source said these quantities of gas will contribute to alleviating the energy crisis in the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt , through the provision of additional supplies of fuel to power plants which are facing a significant shortage in gas during the summer period in which energy consumption increases
