Payment of the Palestinian Authority’s June salary for over 180,000 civil and military public employees will be delayed possibly for over a week due to PA’s acute financial crisis, Tuesday announced Minister of Finance Nabil Qasis. He told reporters that the PA can’t afford to pay full salaries in its current financial situation, which qualifies the hardest crisis in the last three years, causing a delay for several days or a week. Qassis stressed that PA will work hard to pay a large part of June’s salary, especially for the lower class. The Iraqi grant of $25 million has not arrived yet, said Qassis, hoping that other countries will uphold their financial obligations towards PA in time.
