The Minister of Finance and National Economy and the Chairman of the Higher Committee for Tax and Customs Reform, Badr-Eddin Mahmoud has reiterated state commitment to adopt policies on comprehensive reform as to increase revenues and to consolidate the trends of the state on economic stabilization through the increase of growth rates, reduction of inflation and resources mobilization to finance development at all productive sectors.
The minister affirmed, at the meeting of the committee at the premises of the Ministry of Finance Tuesday, his endeavour to adopt tax and customs reforms targeting reinforcement of mechanisms of control and receipts as well as to raise the contribution of the revenues in the gross domestic product (GDP), referring to the efforts being exerted to rationalize the customs exemptions and to treat tax losses, asserting combating of tax and customs avoidance through clear and abiding by policies by giving priority to strengthening of the institutional aspect at the income- generating institutions, stressing that concern will be given to the gradual reform in tax and customs reform and the required balance in the concerned fields will be created.
