The Council of Ministers, chaired by the First Vice-President, Maj. General, Bakri Hassan Salih held its regular meeting, Thursday .
Minister of Finance and National Economy presented before the cabinet the report on the performance of the first Half of the 2014 fiscal year, explaining the general features of of the performance which represented in depending on the self-financed-resources as well as the continuation of efforts to reduce the non-basic imports and bridging the gap in essential commodities .
The report also included the performance of the banking system presented by the Governor of the Central Bank, Abdul Rahman Hassan Abdul Rahman which included the increase of the deposits in the banking system up to 44.6 billion SDG .
The cabinet approved the two reports , lauding the Finance Ministry, the economic sector and the Central Bank for the successful implementation of the budget's goal, a matter that contributed to the realization of the economic stability.
The ministers called for more procedures to control price hikes and stability of the national economy.
