Suez Canal Authority announced on Monday that the canal achieved revenues reaching up to $446,600,000. This was due to the passage of 1,522 varied ships through the canal waterway at a total load of 82,205,000 tonnes. Canal administration announced that 776 ships crossed the canal last month heading north — with loads reaching up to 40,513,700 tonnes and 746 ships headed south with 41,691,800 tonnes in load. The statement clarified that August 23 witnessed record revenue of $20,075,000 as 66 ships crossed carrying loads that weighed 3,593,000 tonnes, with passage fees determined according to the transported loads. Suez Canal had collected a total of $5,224,700,000 in the last financial year of 2011/2012 which ended last June, this was based on the passage of 17,664 ships loaded with 938,600,000 tonnes.
