Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen
Phnom Penh - Xinhua

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen will attend the launching ceremony of the Cambodia's Trade Center in Xi'an, capital of northwestern China's Shaanxi province, in May, a senior official said on Monday.

The prime minister confirmed his participation after Shaanxi Governor Hu Heping extended an invitation to him during a meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, said Eang Sophalleth, an assistant to the prime minister.

Earlier in the day, Hu and Cambodian Minister of Commerce Pan Sorasak presided over a business forum and witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Cambodia and China's Shaanxi, according to a Ministry of Commerce statement.

The MoU was aimed at strengthening and boosting the bilateral trade, economics and tourism cooperation between Cambodia and China, the statement said.

Pan Sorasak said Cambodia's Trade Center, which will be opened in Xi'an in May, is crucial to promote trade, tourism and culture, and to attract investment to Cambodia.
