"The construction works of the Habib Bourguiba pavilion at the "cité universitaire internationale de Paris" will start in June 2017," head of "la maison de Tunisie" foundation Imed Frikha said on Friday at a meeting in the Sorbonne.
With a total area of 4,566 square metres, the Habib Bourguiba pavilion which will help double the capacity of students from 200 to 400, will be ready in June 2019.
Marcel Pochard, President of "la cité internationale universitaire de Paris," pointed out that this new pavilion will help Tunisia holds the first position in terms of student reception capacity, adding that 55% of Tunisian students who live in the city are girls enrolled in science courses.
Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Slim Khalbous said Friday during a meeting on this project with Chancellor of the Paris Universities Gilles Pécout, That Tunisia is seeking a quality partnership with France, one with much more impact.
He voiced wish that relations with France will be further fostered in the higher education and scientific research field.
Pécout specified that 12 thousand Tunisian students had enrolled in French universities in 2016, the fourth international student population in France.
Khalbous is on a working visit in Paris, February 22-25.
