Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Monday rescinded a temporary decision exempting imported poultry from customs duties.
The move is aimed at ensuring the availability of this main commodity in the market at affordable prices.
Earlier, the premier assigned a team to study all aspects pertaining to the poultry industry.
The team met with poultry producers on Thursday, and another meeting was held with the attendance of the prime minister and the ministers of finance and supply and representatives of the Trade and Industry Ministry.
The government asserted its keenness on making commodities available in markets and controlling prices
