Chinese political advisors put their heads together on Thursday to offer suggestions for the nation's economic progress and ecological preservation.
Fourteen members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) addressed a plenary meeting at the Great Hall of the People.
Chi Fulin, director of the China Institute for Reform and Development, urged more efforts to properly handle the relationship between the government and the market, calling it key to making breakthroughs in China's drive to deepen reforms.
On behalf of the Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee, Zhu Weiqun suggested speeding up revisions of China's current regulations on nature reserves.
Top-level design in nature preservation should be strengthened, while spatial arrangement of nature reserves shall be adjusted to better protect the country's ecology, he said.
Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the plenary meeting.
