Arabian Centres, the leading developer, owner and operator of international standard shopping malls in Saudi Arabia, received an excellence award for its innovative smart phone application (App). The award was presented at the annual Middle East and North Africa Retail and Shopping Centre awards in Dubai.
The Arabian Centres App can be downloaded free from the Apple Store and Google Play and serves as an essential shopping guide for fashion, dining and entertainment options available in Arabian Centres portfolio of malls in Saudi Arabia.
Available in English and Arabic, the App allows users to personalize their experience by registering through their Facebook or Google+ accounts. Key features of the App include lists of the latest offers and promotions across the 530 local and international brands found in Arabian Centres malls. The App also provides an interactive map, store directory, details about events, in addition to generic information about individual malls such as opening hours, mall description and customer contact details.
Commenting on the award Khalid Al-Jasser, CEO of Arabian Centres, said: “We are delighted to receive this recognition for our mobile app — one of the first of its kind in the Kingdom. Innovation is one of the pillars of our growth strategy and is an essential component of our evolving relationship with our clients, customers and visitors.
“Shopping malls are an intrinsic part of life in the Kingdom, and so is digital technology. By making sure we are at the forefront of both areas, we are able to offer the best of both worlds to everyone who comes to an Arabian Centres mall.”
Arabian Centres was also one of the first mall groups in Saudi Arabia to use mobile-phone tracking technology to analyze the visitor traffic patterns within its malls.
