IKEA stores in Morocco have announced the intention to either substitute faulty MYSINGSÖ beach chairs for its clients with new ones, or refund their money to them. The announcement was made on IKEA’s Facebook page on Tuesday.
Problems with the product have prompted the World’s leading furniture company to replace the chairs saying that “after cleaning the fabric chair, reassembly of the chair can be done improperly. This can lead to risks of possibly falling or of injuries to the fingers.”
IKEA’s Tuesday statement went on to say “We ask our kind customers to return the product for a full refund or replacement by a new one.” It is, however, a limited time offer, as outlined by the statement. “[This offer] is available until February 1 without requiring a proof of purchase.”
IKEA opened its first store in Morocco’s in 2015, located in the new city of Zenata, about 30 kilometers away from Casablanca. That opening was followed by four other locations across Morocco.
To date, IKEA has reportedly invested 40 million euros in its Moroccan stores, creating a total of 1,400 jobs, including 400 direct positions.
