Undersecretaries for International Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met today Tamkeen Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi, and agreed to build a strategic partnership between the two sides to prepare for a workshop on active partnership at the United Nations General Assembly.
The workshop targets capacity building for Bahrainis at this significant international gathering in cooperation with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
Shaikh Abdullah expressed pride in and appreciation of the growing partnership with Tamkeen to invest in human beings, provide an environment capable of stimulating the national cadres in order to succeed and demonstrate their capabilities at international forums and thus enhance the reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad.
This partnership, he said, is also to activate constructive cooperation with the United Nations and its various agencies, in line with the objectives of the comprehensive reforms of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the government action plans and programmes.
“This in addition to increasing institutional cooperation to serve the aspirations of citizens and provide the best basic services as well as to contribute regionally and internationally to every serious and real work to reinforce security and stability and make prosperity and wellbeing prevail.”
The undersecretary added that the Kingdom of Bahrain has shown great interest in promoting cooperation and mutual understanding with international organizations in various political, developmental, social and other fields.
“The workshop is an important addition to the efforts to improve the quality of performance, knowledge acquisition and know-how under the directives of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.”
He said the Kingdom is among the most committed countries to the noble goals for which the United Nations was founded and managed to establish itself as a role model worth emulating in reform, development and human fields.
Shaikh Abdullah praised the existing cooperation with Tamkeen, a pioneering institution that is distinguished for its leadership and excellence, which has spared no single effort to provide the citizens with specialized training programs in partnership with various ministries and government and private institutions, to open promising horizons for fruitful and close cooperation including cooperation with international organizations.
“We have found Tamkeen to be a perfect partner with which we could transform ambition into reality.”
Janahi said Tamkeen was always striving to develop the capabilities of the Bahraini citizens and provide them with the training and rehabilitation they need in order to help them cope with work developments and international regulations, considering this workshop as a precious opportunity for them to receive world-class training.
“Tamkeen is committed to building partnerships that brush up Bahrainis’ skills and make them the best choice in all vital sectors internally and externally, the very skills that will positively impact services,” he said, indicating that the current year’s training budget has exceeded the budgets that have been allotted for the purpose in previous years.
Tamkeen CEO expressed his interest in developing partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, praising the keenness of its Undersecretary for International Affairs to make this cooperation work and build on it in the near future in other fields, amid the high priority Tamkeen accords to international training programs, as part of its mission to provide employment and training to the citizens in the most comprehensive and thoughtful manner.
